Poem for a Poem

This isn't goodbye.
But my heart's still heavy.
I know that we might meet again.
But that can hardly make good the pain.
The world is closer than ever before.
But nothing compares to personal touch no more.
The laughs we shared,
the secrets we confessed.
Might one day get blurred with time.
But they'll always be experiences of mine.
From the first ice cream to the juicy watermelon.
You are someone I can always depend on.
From broken hearts to new friendships
And the km long book trips.
You were extraordinary through it all.
Taught me so much in such a little time.
I'm glad that I can call you mine.
