2011 World Cup Win

10:45pm 2nd April 2011 will be remembered by the whole of India (1.4bn people). It was the time, which the whole nation had been waiting for the past 28 years. And I saw the history being created in the cricket frenzy country like India, this win was no less than a festival.

I bet almost every boy in this country dreams of becoming a cricketer. And while watching this version, many girls would have thought that if they were a guy they would have been a cricketer too.

The celebs to the aam aadmi, everyone's interested in it. Cricket serves as a game of twists and turns, not a game for weak hearted spectators. So is the craze in our country that everyone has their own superstition regarding it. Some people don't watch the match, some opt for fasting and the list continues.

Its one of the things which unifies our country. But one thing sure is that the higher these people take the players for their good play, they don't hesitate a bit to push them down from their for there bad performance.

The sight of the whole family cheering for the country together is a rare one, But this summer, there were many such sights I bet.

Talking about the match and the superstition. I don't know why but I'm one of those excited rather anxious people. I can watch the innings where we bowl, but can't really watch our battling completely.

Talking about the players, our team had the best cricketer of the world. Few players who had an awesome come back. A whole new bunch of talented youngsters.

To top it all one of the coolest captain who showed his true mettle at the most crucial time. The best improvement was in the form of a coach.

In a way, this could have been the best story ever. A boy of 10 witnesses our first world cup victory. He dreams of lifting that cup for the country, And after 21 years of his career, lifts the cup in his hometown with the teammates who grew up idolising him.

And this victory was extra special because we beat all the other world champs who have previously lifted the cup en route.
