Monsters and demons of Kathua
Monsters and demons, now I know these terms for imaginative beings came to be used to describe the human behaviour and deeds. Humans are capable of doing such horrendous heinous deeds which cannot be seen in the entire living world on this planet.
A human can kill another human. Well, there's not one reason why s/he does that. A number of reasons and devices have been developed for doing it. Ah! Let's list the way a person can be killed.
1. Strangle, most economical way
2. Stab, slit, the old fashioned way.
3. Shoot, a light weight way
4. Bomb, for the 'inevitable' wars
5. Poison, the way to a person's heart is through the stomach
6. Road rage, for the emotional beings
7. Rape, a way to prove a no means yes.
The list is long, but I'll stop here. A recent event, the details of which are so horrifying that not even a crime-thriller author could come up with it. I've read about torture incidents and how psychotic people have killed their victims. But this takes it to another level. The level of planning with went into this darsty act is mind boggling. And to think they had the confidence that they would get away with crime by colluding with the law and order forces is a ride shock to those who trust in the ideal of 'justice'.
Does the human made constructs of different identifies have so much power to blur and corrupt the minds of people to commit such acts? I think not. But the power given by these identifies gives the false notion of superiority. No, one is not superior if one is born as a certain gender, in a certain family, in a certain land. The accident of birth is what makes the perpetrators fearless and the victims vulnerable.
Just because one belongs to a section of people who are greater in number doesn't give one the right to rewrite the definition of good and bad.
I can't imagine the trauma that the little kid had to go through. The people who offered her help snatched her life away. And the way they did it? The pain she was put through has made me numb.
These terrorist who spread terror against mankind need to be punished. But the victim will never come back, she'll never go back to her home. And this why I don't believe in Karma.
We are all born one day and we all will die one day. But nobody deserves to go the way they took her away.
